Hi evelozano

That error will always appear even you try reinstalling the older version. The reason is that there are many updates in the past that cannot be skipped. Or some of the updates on the past are not included in the latest version you downloaded.  Download this Basecamp update :

http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435

If you are getting the same error even after downloading the update that I give you do this steps that I will be providing.

1. Check if you have downloaded the correct update by going the official site of basecamp.

2. If you are finish on checking the correct update. Install the older version of basecamp then Install the latest version you downloaded.

3. Don’t install the latest version on the same folder where the older version is located instead make a new folder name it with the latest updates name.

4.  After doing this copy the latest version on the folder of the older version.

Ah pop out window will appear asking if you want to copy a file that is already there.

Just Click yes or yes to all.

Thanks and good Luck.

If you downloaded and installed the latest version of Basecamp then deleted and then installed it again twice, I don’t think it will work. You should not delete an application if you want to remove it from your computer because Microsoft Windows is different from OS X.

In OS X, removing or uninstalling an application is done by simply trashing the program’s installation folder or in other words, you simply delete the installation folder. In Microsoft Windows, that method doesn’t work. You have to uninstall the program by running the built-in uninstaller of the program.

To fix the problem if you can no longer make the program to install, download the trial version of Revo Uninstaller Pro and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then click “Forced Uninstall.” On the next screen, click “Browse for” and select “Folder.” Navigate to the installation folder of Basecamp, select it then click “OK.”

If you select “File,” you need to select the main EXE file of the program. When you are ready, click “Next” then follow the instructions. When it is finished, exit Revo Uninstaller then try installing Basecamp again and see if it works. Also, make sure your computer meets the requirements to install the program.
