I am currently using Windows XP Professional edition. I have recently bought a new printer which I am trying to connect with the computer. But, I keep getting an error which says, Windows cannot connect to the printer error 0x0000007e. Please help.

Error – Windows Cannot Connect To The Printer Error 0x0000007eon My Computer

This error occurs only on a computer with a 64-bit architecture where a 32-bit type printer is trying to connect with such computers. You can solve the problems using the steps given below.

1. You need to start and stop the system spooler which gives commands to your printer. To restart the spooler, open your command prompt while logged in as administrator.
2. Type the command, ‘net stop spooler.’
3. Press the‘enter’ key and proceed.
4. Now type the command, ‘net start spooler’ and then press enter.
5. The print spooler will now restart.
6. Try to reconnect your computer with the printer.
