ERROR_SUCCESS_REBOOT_REQUIRED 3010 A restart is required to complete the install. This message is indicative of a success. This does not include installs where the ForceReboot action is run.

I’m packaging with Altiris.  I have built a package that installs Project 2003 Standard and in the package it also installs SP3 for it.  If run alone there is no problem, it has no errors at all.  But when I run a job that reimages the machine and also has other packages associated with it, like Office 2003, Visio Std 2003, Adobe Pro 9.0 and TrendMicro an error shows with a code 3010.

This is where my job stops and needs user interaction.  It prompts saying do you want to install this update and will not continue until you hit yes. I’m confused, this only happens when I run the reimage package on the computer.  By itself or with another package it runs fine, but for some reason it does not go well when the computer is reimaged. 

I tried placing it at the end of the job but it still stops wanting you to hit yes.  I tried putting a reboot in before the installation of SP3 but it still won’t go through without user interaction. 

Any help out there on this would be great and thanks in advance to those that replies.

Hello Martin,

Well, if you haven't restarted the computer to finish the installation successfully I will suggest that you try that.

First of all go to the control panel and remove any files related to the application, and then after that reinstall and this time round be sure to restart the computer when the installation finishes.

Hello,

(ERROR_SUCCESS_REBOOT_REQUIRED 3010 (0XBC2)) This error signifies that the requested operation is successful and the changes will not be effective until the system is rebooted.

Now that you know the meaning then you might want to ignore this error in future.

However windows system error codes lists thousands of similar errors. To solve these error codes forever I recommend you to use Advanced System care application.

These errors bring unwanted dialog boxes and you realize that you were simply wasting your time.
