I just got an Etrex30 and immediately inserted it into my computer. I had a successful download for a pocket query. Since at this time it was still okay, I proceeded to have my software updated. After that, my computer would act differently. A screen appears for a few seconds but that's it. My computer would not recognize it anymore. What should I do? It's still so brand new.

Since you did a software update, then I suspect that should be the cause to the problem your ExtreH device is experiencing now. Either the software is not compatible with the ExtreH that you have or it is not supported by the version of the operating system that you are using on your computer and therefore it cannot be recognized.
So I will advice that you check the specifications of your ExtreH device, and check whether the update you did could be supported on your device, and also check if the software you updated is supported by the version of the operating system that you are using.
If the problem persists, you might need to call the customer support for that particular device and let them help you fix the problem.
