Event ID 1 for Sophos Antivirus

Hi All,

I get this sophos error.

No versions of component 'MessageResDSFactory' are registered. MessageResDSFactory cannot be returned.

Can anyone explain on what this error means and how can i fix this?

I have a Windows 2003 Sp2 Enterprise edition OS

Event ID 1 for Sophos Antivirus

 

I contacted Sophos and received the following message from their support team:

Issue
When you attempt to install Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, version 7.6, the following error is displayed:

No versions of component 'MessageResDSFactory' are registered. MessageResDSFactory cannot be returned.

There may be an additional message, error, or warning relating to a permissions/group membership issue. This is a false warning.

Sophos Product and version
Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+, version 7.6

What to do

Open a command prompt and type,

regsvr32.exe "C:program filessophosSophos anti-Viruslocalisation.dll"

In order to do this, you may need to remove yourself from the "sophos admin" or "sophos user" groups and then add yourself back.

Thanks for writing to us at Techyv about your concerns regarding the issue you have been facing.

Please can you enter the following run commands:

(regsvr32 "C:Program FilesSophosSophos Anti-VirusLocalisation.dll").

This might just fix it.
