Hello,

My Excel 2007/2010 is unable to open files when I installed ASAP Utilities. The error message “repairs to ASAP Utilities” shows that the workbook has unreadable contents due to lost VBA project, ActiveX controls and other related features.

Repairs to 'ASAP Utilities.xla'

Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the

unreadable content.

This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX controls and any other programmability-

related features.

                                                                                                                             Close

How can I recover my files back? Is there just a setting on how to restore the VBA and ActiveX controls?

Thank you in advance to someone who could help me.

I presume that your Microsoft Office Excel is already installed on your computer even before you install ASAP Utilities. If this is true then it’s possible that these applications or some of their components were conflicting with each other if any of them is launched. If this is the case, try changing their installation sequence and hope this has a positive result.

Uninstall both applications from your machine [Microsoft Office Excel and ASAP Utilities] then restart your system. After booting, install ASAP Utilities first. Wait for the installation to finish then restart your machine again. Next, install Microsoft Office Excel. When both installations are finished try opening one of your workbook then see if you’ll get that dialog box again. You may also try checking your computer for any possible errors after uninstalling both of the applications. This helps ensure that your system is free from errors before installing them back.
