My Dell laptop is showing messages saying something about “Excessive Memory Use. ” I only use Google Chrome so I think it’s not supposed to consume the entire memory. I checked the task manager to see the programs running but there’s nothing that could have used a lot of memory. How ca I fix this?

I just installed the XPnet Performance Monitoring tool and then remain on it for a while and then I waited till it uploads my data so I could identify what is causing the problem. And the result was very obvious. Similar to Windows Vista before, it consists of a hostile disk caching.

The SuperFetch tool is causing Windows to pre-charge a specific data once the operating system detects that it is being used on regular basis even if there is no definite reason. Though SuperFetch is less hostile on Windows 7, it still use a considerable amount of memory but with a significant stipulation. The operating system will utilize the memory for caching purpose when there is no call for that memory.

Hi Paul,

This could be a problem of with your RAM memory, did you install any software before this happened? Try uninstalling it.

What is the size of your RAM? Maybe it needs to be upgraded.

Try restarting your computer. Then, if it still isn’t solved, restore your computer to an earlier setting. Follow these instructions:

Click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, then system restore.
