Hello Abbiegail,

There are system requirements that you are required to meet before proceeding with the installation of the exchange 2007 on server 2003.

One crucial requirement is the domain functional level that you are running the system on must be at Windows 2000 native mode or higher. You will also need to be running windows 2003 with service pack 1 installed which has the schema master and the Globe catalog servers.

You will need to configure exchange 2007 with schema extensions but in this case the Active Directory will be prepped automatically during setup.

When through with the schema extensions, you will need to give them some time so that they replicate throughout the forest before you install any additional Exchange 2007 servers in the organization.

When everything is done, you will have to configure certain administrative rights which include the following:

  • The Enterprise Administrator rights
  • The Domain Administrator rights
  • You might also need the Schema Administrator right configured
