You are receiving this error message during the run setup.

Such type of error occurs if the name of the “sharing network” from which you are running Setup is more than 12 characters in length (13 characters or more). For example, you receive the error message if the path to Office Setup is:

\serverlong_share_nameOff2002CD1Setup.exe

In the given example the path name is 15 characters in length.

To resolve this problem, rename the “sharing network” from which you are running Setup. For example, Rename the network share to my_net. This makes the new path to Office Setup the following:
\servermy_netOff2002CD1Setup.exe

Because my_net is 6 characters, I am sure you will not receive the error message when you will run Setup for Office.
