The steps for copying Hyper-V virtual machine using VM Template are as follows:

• Create the new Hyper-V VM.
• Install the guest OS on the VM.
• Install and configure all needed software and the patches
• Prepare the virtual machine image with the Sysprep.

• Delete the VM checkpoints.

• Export the Hyper-v VM to the Hyper-v VM template.

• Import the Hyper-v VM by using the existing VM template.

You can also use Powershell for creating the new virtual machine.
