External USB Hub Not Working

I recently bought an external USB hub for my laptop because it only has 2 USB ports. I use a lot of flash drives and other peripherals so I needed more USB port. The USB hub works fine with my mouse and cooler pad. But when I inject flashdrives, they never work. The flash drive sometimes lights up but is not registering on my laptop.

How do I make this work?

External USB Hub Not Working

Hi James,

Your experience with USB hub, is also true with me, there are devices that will not work with USB hub, you need also to check if your USB hub is a 2.0 hub, and also please check the USB port of your laptop if its a 2.0, because it must be compatible with your USB hub, even though your hub is a 2.0 but the laptop port is 1.1, it will not run. What I did is, I put my mouse on the hub so I can use the direct port of the laptop, and if you plan to buy another USB hub, better bring your laptop there for testing on which hub work better for you.
