Wall street Journal as of Monday, June 4 2012, it states that Facebook does have plans to allow children of under 13 years access to the social network. This for them will pull more revenue. The site would allow children to access the site without having to lie and under parental supervision by linking the parent and child accounts.
However, this particular case will be very sensitive as a concern especially from the parents has been raised. Facebook however believes that it will have to establish controls to regulate the content.

Officially, minimum age for signing to Facebook is 13. However, there are thousands of parents who let their children younger than 13 to create a profile and spend lot of time on Facebook.
