Cyclic Redundancy Check error appears when a part on the hard disk of our system contains dirty spot. The dirty spot might be in the file itself that you are copying in the system. The Primary solution is to use Windows Check Disk Utility; it will check the hard disk for errors and solve them. Follow these steps –

  1. Go the Start Menu and then select Run.
  2. Open Command Prompt by typing cmd.
  3. Type chkdsk/f in the command prompt and then click Enter.
  4. It will check the hard disk for Error, if it asks for rescheduling the test when you start the system next time, type Y and click enter and then restart the system.
  5. After the restart, when the task finishes check for the error.

If above steps do not solve the error, check the Drive Status of your external hard disk. If there is a problem with it, the drive contains corrupted files, and you may need to get a fresh copy.
