Try these steps:
If the above step does not work, try to use another USB cable or try to update the PC.
This error appears in iTunes when you try to restore or update your iOS device. The full error reads “The iPhone [device name] could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4005).” If this happened to you, try this method to fix it. First, make sure you have the latest iTunes installed. Go to Download iTunes to get the latest version.
Once you’ve updated the program, next, try to force your device to restart. If you have an iPhone 6s or older iPad or iPod touch, simultaneously press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at least 10 seconds or until you see the Apple logo. For newer devices, simultaneously press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons until you see the Apple logo.
After this, start iTunes and connect your device to your computer using the USB cable. When iTunes prompted you to restore or update, select “Update” to reinstall the iOS firmware and keep your personal data.
