This error occurs when there is a failure in connecting modem to the ISP. The possible reasons for the error can be a failure to install the device driver, loose connection problem or issues with the settings of your PC.

Follow these steps to rectify the error:

1. Check for the drivers, if their installation of is complete or not. If installed is the version updated according to the requirement? Few modems require updated version for the connection.
2. Turn off and restart the device after some time. Check for the proper connectivity and condition of wires.
3. Check for correct selection of connection shortcut.
