Hello,
New version of QuickTime could not be installed because it seems that the older version could not be uninstalled.
I have tried the Add/ Remove in Control Panel but same error message appears again.
Uninstall
The following file does not exist or is not a valid uninstallation log file.
C:WINDOWSsystem32QuickTimeUninstall.log
OK
Please help.Â
Thanks.
Failed to uninstall old version of Quicktime
It may be possible that the file that is associated with the program/application that you’re trying to uninstall has been deleted before it was uninstalled.
Now, here’s what you should do:
1. Download the free program and do the default install.
2. You need to restart your computer after installation is complete.
3. Uninstall QuickTime from the Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs list.
By following the above instructions, this should uninstall successfully however if you’re still having problems, you can also try to uninstall the file that you have in your computer in Safe Mode.
To get into this mode, tap the F8 key while booting and then choose the file you want to uninstall.
I hope this finds you well.

Failed to uninstall old version of Quicktime
Your Quicktime installation is corrupted that's why you are unable to uninstall it properly.
Try doing system restore, back a few days or weeks when there were no errors on your machine and Quicktime was working fine. If that does not help, just try to download a new version of the installer and try to install it to overwrite the Quicktime files.
If this does not help, you can try using RevoUninstaller.
This usually helps with problems like this. It deletes the files associated with the program as well as the registry entries associated with it. You can download it from here:

Failed to uninstall old version of Quicktime
For sure there is a way to uninstall the old version of QuickTime from your computer in case it is refusing to uninstall from the control panel.
Just do the following:
-
On your computer, click on start, and then choose My Computer.
-
Choose the primary hard drive (which could be C:) that has the operating system and programs.
-
Locate program files and click on it to open.
-
From the programs, look for the QuickTime folder.
-
Open it, and delete every content that is in that folder.
After you have done the above you can go back to the control panel and try uninstalling QuickTime again and see if it will uninstall successfully.
