I have a Windows XP pro 2000 and my updates failed. Can someone please help? System restore doesn't do anything. It goes through and comes back 'Have not restore'.

Please can someone help?

Hi,

Your issue might occur as Wups2.dll file is incorrectly installed in your machine. To rectify this issue you can do either of the followings.

  1. Download Windows update Agent and then install it.
  2. Register this incorrectly installed Wups2.dll file. To register Wups2.dll follows the instruction below.

In command prompt >>key “net stop wuauserv“and enter (This will stop automatic updates service)>>key “regsvr32%windir%system32wups2.dll” and enter>>if any alert message of success received click ok>>key”net start wuauserv” and enter
