Hi,
I recently downloaded and installed the Revit 2014 30 day free trial version from your website. The download and installation completed without any issues. But when I try to open the application, I end up with an error saying that it was not able to start correctly and that it must be closed. I thought this might be an issue with improper download of the installer and tried to uninstall the software and then reinstall it. But even after reinstalling, I am still not able to open the application. I have tried using three different browsers for downloading the installer and attempted installing from all. But in all three cases, I was unable to open the application after successful installation. I have administrator access on this machine and tried disabling my firewalls too. But again, I have no luck. Can you please help me figure out why this application cannot start up correctly? Thanks in advance.
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application.
Failure to launch Revit 2014 trial version
Actually, you are not the only one having or experiencing this error. I’m not sure if it’s a bug in the program because there seems to be lots of Autodesk Revit 2014 users who are having the same issue and they also tried all the steps you did but there’s no luck.
But fortunately there is one method that worked for one user when he tried reinstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on his computer. Though this method didn’t work on some users, it might for you. Check first if you really have Microsoft .NET Framework installed on your computer because if you don’t have it then this is what’s causing it.
To fix the problem, download the latest version from Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1. For users who have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and 4.5, you can install this update without having to uninstall the older version because it is highly compatible with both of these versions. If you want to uninstall the old .NET Framework, you can use the Microsoft .NET Framework Cleanup Tool and let it remove the old version of Microsoft .NET Framework for you.
