Can somebody help me because whenever I turn on my computer these two types of messages shows up, Failed to create the database and on the left corner of this window it says Fax Utility and the system cannot find the file specified.
There is also a message on my left top screen that says, Fax utility, Event Manager Failed to create database.
The system cannot find the file specified.
What are these errors and how can I stop them from appearing on my Windows Vista computer?
Fax Utility Error on Windows Vista
I will advice to uninstall and then reinstall the fax utility software.
This can be easily done as follows:
Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Uninstall the Fax Utility Software
Then again reinstall the software from the CD.
The database error may occur if the software had access to some database in the system, and on system boot when the software process starts it may be unable to load the database.
Thus reinstalling the software may help.
Fax Utility Error on Windows Vista
Hello Baiton,
You could try the below solution, and this will help resolved the issue.
Solution 1:
1. Go to Control Panel – Administrative tools – Event log.
2. Under application log try to look for the error messages you’ve been getting.
Once you will see the error messages then you would be able to see as to why you are getting the error.
This may have happened because of the conflict with some other software installed in your computer.
Solution 2:
Try to just install the drivers again which is available in your CD of your fax modem. If you really do not require the fax thing in your PC then simply remove it.
Solution 3:
1. Click Start and type “msconfig” and press enter.
2. Go to Startup tab.
3. Uncheck any printer which you have installed and would also recommend you to uncheck the applications which are not required on startup as it will help resolve the issue and your computer will work faster as well.
Hope this information helps!
