File eraser software could not delete file

Hi.  I just installed Eraser file eraser software on my desktop to permanently erase sensitive files and data.  I'm trying to erase a wmv file but it gave a "cannot delete file" error.  Why is this so?  I'm on windows XP 64 bit.  Please help.  Thanks.

Hi! Regarding to your problem, make sure that you install the Eraser file correctly without any error encounter and make sure that you downloaded it completely so all the file system can be able to install to your computer. If after installation is done and the same problem will occur, I recommend you to use another eraser file software that compatible with your Windows.

File eraser software could not delete file

Hi Donna, I believe I can help you in solving of this query. Most probably the software didn't have a source file. Or the software cannot find the source file when trying to delete the file. What you need to do in this case is to uninstall the software and reinstall it ensuring all the files are added to the registry. You can then start the software and try redeleting the file.

If the software doesn't work, you can download another software such as Secure eraser, which erases documents and drives securely from the hard disk. You can be able to download it from this website; http://www.secure-eraser.com/.

You will then follow the prompts to install it, you need to ensure that all the files it requires are added to the registry and restart the computer to take effects.

Once the program is up and running, you can then restart your computer for the changes to take place effectively. I hope this solves your query.
