Hi,
I have been using InfoPath for a while now. I create forms and publish on SharePoint 2013 online. Now I have this problem while whenever I try to filter on secondary data sources. I wanted to use drag and drop functionality to put a data source with a certain criteria into my form but I got the error message and now am stuck.
Could anyone help me?

Filter on secondary data sources in InfoPath
This issue can be resolved in a way that you provide pre-filtered data instead of filtering data in Infopath, because this filter works well with Infopath Designer but fails when published to share point.
The solution is to use XML data connection which will provide pre-filtered data, can be easily modified in share point, and no irrelevant data will appear.
The link will provide you with XML URL you need to use.
Next, Create a data connection to XML data in Infopath Designer 2010:
Data Tab > Data Connections > Add > Receive data > Next.
Click XML document > Next > Access data from specified location > Next.
Rename data connection > Finish.
This data can then be used to populate drop-down list.
You can also choose this option to opt XML data source:
Also, Infopath 2010 gives two options:
-
Get choices from the fields
-
Get choices from an external data source
