My phone is out of order and I am not able to contact any of the important numbers on my phone. However, I have the list of my contacts online which I can reach through my laptop. Are there any texting applications available which can be used to send messages from my computer to the phones of my contacts?

Yes. A few messaging applications provide services to operate natively from a computer to a phone. You can just download them onto your PC or Mac. All of them require the app to be installed on the target phone as well. Otherwise, your messages will not be received. Few examples of these are Viber, HipChat, Skype, Line and Moped.
