When I click on a new search link, a new window keeps opening on Chrome. What to do to open the search link in the same window?

Fix For “A New Window Keeps Opening In Chrome” When I Click On A Search Link

A new window keeps opening in Chrome is a side-effect of a search setting.

Method 1

a. Search something on Chrome.

b. Click on Settings under the search box.
c. Click on Search Settings.

d. Uncheck the box that says – “Open each selected result in a new browser window.”
e. Save the settings.
f. Restart chrome.

Method 2

a. Open Chrome.
b. There is a menu icon on the top right corner of the Chrome app.
c. Open the menu.
d. Open Settings.
e. Scroll down and click on advanced settings.

f. Click on Clean up computer.

g. Click on Find (Find and remove harmful software).
h. Wait for the process to complete.
i. Restart chrome.
