I own a two year old laptop that was working fine, but now I get the hard drive error 2000-0142 message displayed. What should I do?

Fix Hard Drive Error 2000-0142 For Laptops

You can try running the ‘Diagnostic tool’ which pops up when the laptop is booted. See if that fixes the issue, or else try the ‘Repair the computer’ option.

If the above method does not work then, you will have no choice other than replacing your current hard drive in place of the current one.

Check if the hard drive is in warranty period, or else buy a new one.
