Fix “You need permission to perform this action” vista error

In order to solve this error, follow these steps:
First, Go to the Start menu, then Programs, then Accessories, and then right-click on command prompt and also choose to Run as the Administrator.
Now at command prompt, type this command as follows:

net user administrator /active:yes

Now Press the Enter key and then restart the computer. And then try to do the particular task again which gave you the error message. If the method fails, then change your file permissions by following these steps:

To change security permissions of a particular file, then right-click in the file to click on Properties. And then click on 'Security tab'.
Then click on 'Advanced button' at bottom and then click on 'Owner tab'.
Then Click on 'Edit button', and click on the Other groups and users and then type the name of your user account and then click on Check Names.
Then Click on OK and then on 'Owner' . And make sure that you check the box “Replace owner of subcontainers & objects” . Now select the user account from Security tab, and then click on Edit. And Click on 'Allow next' to the Full Control, then click OK.
