To fix the issue, follow the steps given below-
This will fix the issue for you.
If you have Microsoft Windows 8 and you install VLC media player but videos won’t play, you probably accidentally disabled the player’s video setting. In VLC media player, there are options to disable both the audio and video. In your case, since you only hear the audio from the video but no actual video or image is displayed, video is probably disabled.
To check if the video is enabled, in VLC media player, go to “Tools” and then “Preferences” or press CTRL + P. In the Preferences screen, select “Video” tab then under “Video Settings” make sure “Enable video” is checked.
If your VLC media player has this option unchecked, check it then click “Save.” Try playing a video again and see if it works. If you still don’t see image on your video, try playing the file using a different media player to check. You may also try it on Windows Media Player if the file is supported.
If you still don’t see any image then the file probably just contains audio and no video. Also, try updating VLC to the latest version if you haven’t updated yet. Download VLC for Windows. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
