Hi there,
I worked on a file that already exists on the hard drive and when I wanted to close the open MS Word, I clicked on No by mistake.
Is there any way to get back the work or is it lost forever?
And what if I started working again on the same file is it the same result?
Thanks.
How to recover unsaved document in MS Word?
If you have lost an important Word document, or any other file, and you wish to retrieve it, follow these four steps:
1. Stop using your computer now! — The more you copy and move data on your computer, the more likely it is that the data from your deleted file will be overwritten. You cannot use data recovery software a year later and expect your deleted file's data to still be there.
2. Download Word Recovery Software (free download) – The actual program I used.
3. Scan your computer for recoverable files — This is as simple as starting Data Recovery and clicking "Scan". Then you can sit back and let it do its thing.
4. Recover the file(s) you want — Select the files you want to recover, click recover, and then you have successfully recovered them!
It's as simple as that!
