Can somebody tell me what machine vbulletin is?

Simple Machines and vBulletin are two different applications and they are both intended to be used as the software basis for internet posting forums.

Simple Machines (SMF) is free to use and since 2007, the new version of SMF came out with a few new options which include automatic installation of themes and more group functionalities for moderators, among others.

VBulletin is one of the most used software for forums and it uses PHP as the main programming language. The last version is vBulletin 4; however, vBulletin is not freeware unlike SMF.
