I think you are referring to the Windows Automated Installation Kit and not Windows Automated Installation Toolkit. Anyway, the Windows Automated Installation Kit or Windows AIK or WAIK is the former name and it is now known as the Windows ADK or the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit.
It is a set of technologies and tools created by Microsoft designed to help deploy images of the Microsoft Windows operating system to target computers or to a virtual hard disk image in VHD format. It was originally introduced in Microsoft Windows Vista and is a required component of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
The Windows Automated Installation Kit is designed to help OEMs or original equipment manufacturers, corporate IT professionals, and system builders deploy Microsoft Windows onto new hardware. It is a set of deployment tools that supports the latest release of Microsoft Windows.
