Hi,

Hope someone can help me here, but i keep getting the error code 80072efd every time I try to sign into Live Messenger.

The screenshot of the error is attached below:

The message says:

Sorry, we were unable to sign you into Windows Live Messenger at this time. Please by again later. To let us try and troubleshoot the problem, dick the Troubleshoot button.

Error Code: 80072efd

Now it's telling me that the firewall maybe blocking it but it's not because I disabled it, but made sure it had still been granted full access. Please if anyone can help me out, I'll be really grateful.

Waiting for your response.

Regards

Davis

Hello Davis,

To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

  • You will need to open Hotmail, and then go to settings.
  • After that you will click sync settings, and then scroll down to server and write m.hotmail.com in it.
  • Save the changes.

That should resolve the issue.

Regards,

Nicke

Excellent suggestions, guys, and thanks for the information. One of the fun things with Windows Live Messenger, an incredible IM client, is the sheer number of emoticons available for their users. Whether I want to express how much I love my friend with a hug or send a birthday cake to a friend, emoticons are in abundance on Windows Live Messenger. And because of that, Windows Live Messenger is important to me. Odom Vemus, your solution helps me understand how I will fix this error. By utilizing your system, I am now free from the error, too. Thanks again for your help, friend.
