GIMP Message canot open JPEG file

Hi,

I am using Ubuntu Operating System and trying to open a JPEG image with image viewer, or GIMP but I am unable to complete this process. When I tried to open any image the following error message displays even when I try to open it with GIMP. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for assistance.

GIMP Message canot open JPEG file

Hello Sue,

The JPEG file is somehow, corrupted. It is missing something inside the file that is too hard to recover. Did you try to change the file extension? It is the main cause that pictures become corrupted.

You can use this online jpg repair. It supports many file formats and also, working.

Also, get latest GIMP. It will come with all known bugs fixed.
