The full error reads “Temporary Error (404)” and you can usually get this when logging in to your Gmail account. This is a common error which, when triggered, makes the computer freeze and sometimes slows down the machine’s performance. This normally happens when installing or uninstalling an application or a game. To fix the problem, download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it.

Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select the affected program among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then open Notepad and type the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\WPA|PosReady]
”Installed”=dword:00000001

Save the file with any name you like. Once the file is saved, change the extension name of the file from “.txt” to “.reg”. After renaming the file to “.reg”, double-click it to merge it with the Windows registry. Lastly, restart the computer to re-enable automatic updates. See if this works.
