Hi Christian Gale,

Google gadget program cannot start because it failed to load the following module (s) in other words your Js-script-run out of time.  In order for you to solve this problem and for your Google Gadgets to work and perform well you have to update your Fedora 11 through a normal updates in which new xulrunner  is included and even Firefox  3.5.

Hey,

Google gadgets are not supported by all of the Linux versions. Few Linux systems, such as Ubuntu and Mint, completely support Google gadgets.

The reason for this is that Google gadgets use jre SDK. jre SDK is not supported completely by many of the Linux, like Fedora, Open Suse, Mandriva, and perhaps yours too.

The best thing you could do now is to switch over to another Linux. Mint would be fine. It has pre-installed jre SDK.

It would work best for you.

Google Gadgets is Windows-based that’s why it doesn’t run on Linux. If you are trying to install a program on Linux, check the system requirements and verify that your computer meets those requirements. If you are trying to install a Windows-based application on Linux, the best way to do it is with Wine. Download the latest version of Wine from Wine HQ and install.

Once installed, start Wine then install the program from there. Another way you can install a Windows-based program on Linux is with a virtual machine. Since most applications are Windows-based, the easiest way to install it is under Windows environment and you can do this by creating a virtual machine. Visit the VirtualBox download page and download the version for Linux distros.

Once installed, start VirtualBox then create and configure a virtual machine that will run Microsoft Windows. Once the virtual machine is created, install a version of Microsoft Windows on that virtual machine. Before installing Microsoft Windows, check the system requirements of the program you want to install then among the supported operating systems, pick one and install it on the virtual machine.

Once Windows is installed, install the program.
