Compatibility issue with ATI Graphics Card and its Driver

Hi,

I recently bought a laptop from Compaq. My laptop description is:

Processor Type:  AMD Athlon™ Dual Core processor P360 2.3 GHz

Chipset               :  AMD Chipset Ati

RAM                     :  2Gb DDR3

Hard Disk           :  500 GB HDD

Screen Size        :  14" HD Led Display

Optical Drive      :  DVD R/W

Graphics Card  :  ATi Radeon HD 6370 with 512 MB DDR3 Dedicated

Audio/Speaker  :  Altec Lansing Speaker with 3D effect & full duplex

OS:                      :  Windows 7 32 Bit

Now  my problem is about my Graphics Card. I downloaded ATI Catalyst 11.6  32 Bit from ATI Site. But when I setup ATI Catalyst, it shows me that the driver doesn't recognize my Card. What may be the problem? Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know.

Compatibility issue with ATI Graphics Card and its Driver

Hello, welcome to techyv. 

You didn't mention if it has a mobile chipset or not. As far as I know, most laptops have mobile chipset. So you can’t install normal catalyst that works for a normal card but not the mobile chipset card. For using a mobile chipset card you have to install proper software for it. You can go here to download the software:

http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-6_mobility_vista_win7_32-64_hydravision.exe

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/incomplete

I think this will solve your problem. But it the problem continues, you can go to Compaq's site and download the installer, for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 from here:
