Group Management-Active Directory groups best practices
Hi. As Active Directory has developed, some of the best practices too have been developed along with it. It has also been ensured that these practices are adhered across the world without facing any problems. Some of the best practices followed include:
1) In Active Directory, all the information about groups such as that about its replication, members holding membership, etc. are all determined by a group’s scope. It becomes very unreasonable to expect the administrator to know how a group’s scope can impact these factors. So, major issues for users throughout the organization can be solved by computerizing this decision process.
2) Security groups and Distribution groups are the two groups that are prevalent in Active Directory. So, it will be helpful if we deploy additional interaction from the administrator for designation of a group to allow mail.
3) Nested Groups are suggested for various reasons such as ease of management and optimization of replication. However, enforcing it in Active Directory is nearly impossible which needs to be worked on.
