To do a clean boot on your Windows PC-

  1. In start type msconfig and hit enter
  2. Then in general tab look for selective startup and click on it
  3. Proceed to startup items and then to services
  4. In that select hide all Microsoft services and then disable all
  5. Then restart your pc.

This how you do a clean boot.

First up, you don’t do a clean boot for no reason. This is only done when you need to troubleshoot a problem or to isolate the cause of a certain issue. To do a clean boot, click “Start,” “All Programs,” “Accessories” then right-click “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator.” In the command prompt window, type without quotes “msconfig” then hit Enter.

In System Configuration Utility window under “General” tab, select “Selective Startup” then uncheck “Load Startup Items.”

Select Selective Startup

Next, select “Services” tab then click “Disable All.” Click “OK” then restart the computer.

Click Disable All

After booting the computer, you are now in a clean boot environment. When you are finished troubleshooting, run the “msconfig” command again and select “Normal Startup” in “General” tab to boot the computer normally.
