Hard disk data recovery from another laptop possibility

My friend has broken his laptop’s screen and now is under stress because he has huge valuable business data in laptop and is required urgently. I want to know, whether it is possible to use the laptop’s in some mode, may be projector mode or slave mode and recover the data in the hard disk. Correct me if i am wrong, is it possible to connect one laptop with another via Ethernet cable or USB cable so that the data in the laptop can be copied securely. Is there any other alternatives? Or should I run to the service office?

Hard disk data recovery from another laptop possibility

If HDMI cable is available with you, then connect the laptop with a HDMI port available screens like TV or desktop PC. Make sure that the HDMI connection port is available in both ends of the devices.

Connecting one laptop to another laptop is difficult. It is possible to connect the internal hard disk of your laptop with another laptop by using eSATA to USB cable. You can securely copy all data from your hard disk to the other laptop without any loss of data.
