There are several factors that have been linked to the android phones having hardware features that are more prone to failure as compared to the other mobile phones in the market. Some of this includes the endeavor for android to bringing Smartphone technology into the mass-market.
But it has been said that the maturation of the industry, the availability of hardware components to be involved in driving of the varying levels of hardware quality into the market and as a result delivering an inconsistent customer experience one being delivery of phones that are of low quality especially in their hardware element.

According to statistics, Android hardware seems to be more prone to failure and maybe users have already noticed that aspect.
There are several explanations to this phenomenon. One of them is that trying to get a bigger slice from the smartphone market has inevitably meant that producers had to rush and bring new models with new features, which not always were tested enough. Hardware manufacturers looked for potential new markets and had to cover an ever growing request, which led to mass production of many types of phones and eventual lower quality was a risk they had to assume in order to compete successfully with the iPhones, for instance.
