Have no Lion CD with Mac Book Pro
I love my new Mac book pro. But I have one problem. I want to restore Lion. But it didn't come with the Mac book. Would I need to buy it again?

Hello Charles,
I have read your concern regarding Lion restoration. As what I’ve understood, there is no Lion installed in your new Mac Book and you wanted to restore it there. Is it right?
Well, here are few points regarding this problem. First thing is Mac OS X Lion can be downloaded for free via Mac App Store; you don’t need to buy it. If you can possibly download it on the official page of Apple, install it afterwards on your new Mac Book. When done, it’s all set. The problem was solved.
And if not, try following these steps for your reference in Lion recovery.
– Restart Mac
– Hold the “COMMAND” key and “R” àpresented as “command+R” (do this when Mac is starting up until “APPLE” icon appears)
– When done with the start-up, you will see on the desktop a “Mac OS X Menu Bar” and “MAC OS X Utilities” application window. If you don’t see any of these two, it means that you fail. You should do it again until successful.
– If you succeed, you will now be ready to install the OS X Lion.
I hope I am in the right track of understanding your concern and give you a hand to fix the problem. I hope this information is of good help.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Mali
The Apple MacBook Pro ships with OS X 10.11 El Capitan. If you don’t want to use El Capitan and want to revert to OS X 10.7 Lion, you can always downgrade your operating system to a previous version but downgrading is not that easy unlike with Microsoft Windows. Also, if you have already purchased OS X 10.7 Lion before, you no longer need to buy it again.
You can find it in your Purchased History. If you don’t remember purchasing it before, you can check and verify it in your account. Open the Mac App Store. If the App Store prompts you to sign in, enter your Apple ID and password and then click Sign In. Click Purchases then look for Lion.
If it is there, you can click Download to download it and be able to downgrade your operating system later. But if you don’t have it, instead of buying it, you can ask someone who already purchased it to lend you a copy by asking him to sign in to the App Store on your computer.
One thing about downgrading your OS X, you cannot just run the Lion installer within OS X El Capitan and downgrade your OS. That will not work because Mac always wants to have the latest version of OS X. If you want to downgrade your operating system, you have to completely erase OS X El Capitan and then install OS X Lion from scratch.
You need to create a backup of your current files so you can restore them back once OS X Lion has been installed.
