Having Problem With Windows Update. Getting Error Window Update Error Code 80072ee2 While Updating Win 7.

Hi, I currently have a Windows 7 verison where I want to install the updates. But, everytime I want to update, an error saying window update error code 80072ee2  is shown in the dialogue box. Please help?

Hello, if you are saying such an eror then there are few possibilities and solutions you may find useful.

1. Maybe, due to presence of Firewall and antivirus softwares. Disable any antivirus software and try again.
2. The network connection is missing while updating procedure. Ensure coorect connection is available and try again.
3. Malware detection in the system . In such a case, please do a full computer scan and try agian.
4. This may be an issue with missing .dll files or other system files. Try formatting the C:/ drive and try again.

If you receive error code “80072ee2” when installing or using Windows Update, try this method to fix it. Click “Start,” “All Programs,” “Accessories,” and then “Command Prompt.” In the command prompt window, type without quotes “regedit” then hit Enter. In the Registry Editor window, navigate to this location: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]. On the right pane, delete the following keys if available:

• WUServer
• WIStatusServer

After this, close the registry editor and then click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Performance and Maintenance,” “Administrative Tools,” and then “Services.” In “Services” window, go along the list and look for the “Windows Update” service. Right-click it and select “Restart.” See if this works.
