I heard that for the first time the premium streaming service is easily available from a next gen console. I also came to know that an app is already available for Xbox 360 and PS3. But I have seen any official announcement from Microsoft or HBO yet even though the app is seen live in Xbox One.Â
Is HBO Go really available for Xbox One?
It was HBO and Microsoft that made the announcement that HBO Go will now have an Xbox One app. The Xbox One app of HBO Go needs authentication along with login information from an HBO subscriber. The HBO Go Xbox One app supports the following pay-TV contributors during launch:
-
AT&T
-
Bend Broadband
-
Blue Ridge Communications
-
Cablevision
-
Charter
-
Comcast’s Xfinity
-
Cox
-
DirecTV

-
HTC Digital Cable
-
Massillon Cable/Clear Picture
-
Mediacom
-
Midcontinent Communications
-
RCN
-
Suddenlink
-
Time Warner Cable
-
Verizon FiOS
HBO also announced last October 2014 that by next year, 2015, they intend to offer a streaming service that is not fixed to a pay-TV subscription. The HBO Go Xbox One app supports gesture control and Kinect voice like with the Xbox 360 app. The HBO Go Xbox One app is already available for download on Xbox One and is also scheduled for release this year on PlayStation 4.
