Hello. I have been having some problems with my Asus Fonepad 7 since the last update. When I connect a set of headphones to the device, they don’t work. I checked, and the Fonepad tells me they are connected, but no sound comes out of them. I tried this with many headphones, even with another pair from Asus, but nothing. What could the issue be?
Headphones not working on an Asus Fonepad 7
Hello David,
You have mentioned that this problem has occurred since your last update. You have also exhausted most of the options available to a user.
I would suggest you attempt a factory reset of your Tab.
Remember to back up all your data prior to a factory reset. Post factory reset see if you can use your headset or not.
If not, then it is time to approach the servicing center.
If you can then you should try updating once again to ascertain that update has completed successfully. I am confident the entire process would solve your problem.

If the headphone jack doesn’t work on any headphones you tried, try factory resetting your device. First, back up your device’s data to the memory card and remove the memory card from the device. After this, you need to start your phone in Recovery Mode. With the phone completely off, press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until the logo appears.
When the logo appears, release the Power button but continue holding the other keys. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release all buttons. To navigate between the options, press the Volume Up/Down buttons. To select or Enter, press the Power button. Now, press Volume Down and go to “wipe data/factory reset” then press the Power button to select.
Next, press Volume Down and go to “Yes — delete all user data” then press the Power button to select. Android will begin clearing your phone’s data so just wait. When it is finished, go to “reboot system now” and press Power.
