Help and support corrupted in Windows 7

Hi, I have a windows 7 64 bit computer that I have been using well for quite a while. Everything seems  to function normally but when I click on start menu then help and support, i get the support icons but they act strangely. A click gives a message saying that the publisher is unknown (Name: wshC1AA.tmp.js). The software then exits and another message is displayed saying that the script has been tampered with or corrupted. I have run an antivirus but I can't find any virus in the computer. Any help to restore my help and support centre would be appreciated.

Your Windows 7 is corrupted and can be fixed through a few steps. The first option is to restore your system or to re install your operating system. To System restore your settings, Launch start> Control panel> Recovery> Open system restore> Select on one the most recent restore points and click ok.

Alternatively

Insert your Windows 7 CD, restart your computer and select repair windows, follow the simple steps and your computer will operate fine.

It’s my first time to hear that the Windows “Help and Support” section has gone faulty and I haven’t experienced it yet though I normally format my hard drive and reinstall Microsoft Windows every 2 years sometimes a year more. I doubt that the cause of the problem are the updates installed by the Windows Update.

It is possible that one of the installations failed that resulted to this error. If your Windows 7 is not using any Service Pack, update your operating system to Service Pack 1 to possibly fix the problem. When updating the Service Pack of Microsoft Windows, it normally replaces some of the components of the previous Service Pack.

To try it, visit Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Update then download the file. Once downloaded, run the installer to update your Service Pack. The process takes a little while to complete so just wait until it is finished. When the update is complete, you need to restart your computer to apply the changes. See if this fixes the problem.
