There are a lot of differences between primary data and secondary data. The major differences are given below.

  1. Primary data is the first stage of data, obtained from personal survey or research. It is the data obtained from the primary collection of information. Secondary data is the information derived from this stage.
  2. The primary data is collected by the person who uses it. The secondary data is collected by a person or entity who provides this data to other people for research, manipulation of knowledge generation.
