Help my window won’t restore?

Why is my window 8.1 not restoring to a previous known restore point? I recently installed an app and the app is causing my window 8.1 to hang and shut down abruptly. I tried to the restore the window to the last known conf state, but I can’t find any restore point on my machine. Also, I’ve lost the installation CD thereby making it difficult to repair the window using the system disk. How can I regain my system?

It is possible that your system was not set to create restore points or that you deleted restore points when performing system maintenance. The best option for your problem is to acquire a repair disk (or flash drive) for antivirus software and/or operating system software. You can acquire one from an associate or order one, for as little as a few (US) dollars, from a vendor. In the live environment, you can remove the problematic software, check for malware, conduct system maintenance scans, and possibly restore your system.
