Help,
I have a problem with my Samsung galaxy y, I even called my service provider regarding this, they can't find the answer. It started when I logged in to Facebook, and accepted to sync my contacts in Facebook, but then when I tried to look for my friends number in my phone book, All the contacts were gone. Tell me how to do get back the numbers.
Thank you.

Help to restore the phonebook
Normally this will happen if you let your account sync to your Facebook contacts, Before I start to give you the instructions, First you have to know if you had added the contacts in your SIM card, well if that’s the case all you have to do is to manually reset the phone, this is not advisable though because it will erase all your data in your phone memory, but it will not wipe out the data that was in store in your memory card.
It’s the easiest way to recover your lost contacts if you had saved it to your SIM memory. Just make sure that you had back up your data to your PC. To reset your phone, just go to the settings menu then locate privacy, choose the privacy settings and look for the Personal data tab, under that you will see Factory data reset and hit that button, if you want to also erase music, pictures and other user data in your memory card, you just have to put a check on the box to format the memory card, but if not just leave it.
Then just hit the format SD card button. It will automatically reboot. Then after it was completely resected, check your phonebook again and you should see now your SIM contacts, however if you save your contacts to your phone memory, you need to go to the settings menu and locate the accounts and sync settings, and then under manage account you just have to unmarked the check box to unsyc the account that has been linked to your phone to automatically restore the contacts on your phone, if this doesn’t work. You have to manually log in to your Facebook account and remove the phone number that you are using to your Samsung galaxy Y.
I hope this helps because it happened to me many times, and this is 100% proven works for me, if you want to double check click this link.

Sync your android to Google if you haven’t yet done so (Menu> Settings> Accounts and Sync> Turn on Google). Then log on to your Google account and go to contacts. Next to add contacts there is a More tab with drop down menu. Under that menu there is a restore contacts option. Try it.
