Techyv Experts,
After I install a VMware virtual machine, I’m trying to open a .vmx file on VM player and ended up with this error.
I should mention that I recently upgraded my OS from Vista to windows 7.
Do I need to do some changes pertaining to Windows 7 to make my VM player run without an error?
Vmware player internal error
Error: Error while powering on: Internal error.
Thanks,
Basil
Help with VMplayer – Internal error
Hi,
VM player problem means you can not install VM properly in your PC. There are too many software for virtual box. Debian is one of them. If you have difficulty with operating your VM then you can try to use another virtual box software.
Or you need some module in a VM for the play VM player. VM player and ended up with internal error means your VM is not sweet able for that PC.
So I am focusing on sun Virtual box 3.0.1. It is easy to use and has No difficulty to operate. Just go to this site and download sun virtual box for free
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
Then install it and it will detect all hardware that you have. So there will be no problem with VM player.
Help with VMplayer – Internal error
I think the reason why the error happens is that you open the file from Microsoft Windows operating system. Files that have the “.vmx” extension are usually related to the VMware Fusion program. VMware Fusion lets Macintosh users operate Microsoft Windows on their Mac computers. It serves as the virtual machine host operating system on the Mac computer.
The VMX files used in a Mac computer contain the configuration files of the application. The settings for the virtual machine settings editor are stored in these files including the New Virtual Machine Wizard. These VMX files are usually stored in plain text format. This format is similar to the CFG file format though CFG files were used in older versions of VM Workstation.
VMX files can be opened using VMware Workstation, VMware Server, VMware Player, and VISUAL Mfg. If the virtual machine is already installed when you upgraded to Windows 7, you need to reinstall the program after the upgrade. Programs are normally reinstalled after finishing an operating system upgrade because literally, they are not yet installed on the new operating system.
