How best can I reduce downtime when updating window server in VMware environment? In our VMware environment, we have some Linux based virtual machines and now we a planning of adding a window server 2012 server virtual machine that will host some database instance. What strategies can we use in reducing downtime to the barest minimum?

How best to reduce downtime when updating window server.

Hello James J Khan,  There are two strategies that can be used in this scenerios are failover and load balancing. For a failover pair with one active and one standby node, if the first node goes down, then the other one start to work on. For intelligent load balancing, the traffic is shared between multiple nodes and downed hosts.
