How can i check compatibility of ram?
There are various RAMs in the market today. Compatibility issues can be overviewed in different aspects.
1. Make sure that both RAMs are of the same bandwidth. Like DDR2 is obviously not compatible to DDR3.
2. Make sure that both RAMs are of the frequency. Like DDR2 800 is not compatible to DDR2 667.
3. Though Brand names seems to have no problem in terms in compatibility issues. Like Transcend DDR2 800 works perfectly fine to Kingston DDR 800 but just to make sure, if you can have on the same Brand name, just have it the same Brand name just to make sure.
4. There are motherboard that offers a combination of DDR2 and DDR3, two slots on each bandwidth. Take note that if you use DDR2 you cannot use DDR3 of the other way around.
