How can I edit the older file format of Microsoft office doc using Microsoft web apps? I receive some Microsoft doc in an older file format that I need to edit using Microsoft web app, but I can only view this docs but not editing them. Why can’t I edit these files? What other way can I use in editing these docs?

How can I edit older word or excel formant in web app?

What you could do is, import those old docs and excel file to later version that are capable to be modified or configured to be accessed by web apps. Try opening the files using MS Office 2010 and change the file settings for collaboration online. Otherwise, the old files are not compatible to be shared, edited and stored using web apps.
